Assets beyond income case: Khusro Bakhtiar, Hashim Jawan record statements before NAB

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister of Economic Affairs Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar and Minister of Punjab for Finance Hashim Jawan Bakhat on Monday appeared before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for in case pertaining to the assets beyond the known sources of income and recorded their statements.
Khurso Bakhtiar and Hashim Jawan appeared before the anti-graft body after they were summoned there to explain as how they made their assets.
Sources said that a Combined Investigation Team (CIT) grilled both the ministers. After recording the statement, the anti-graft watchdog has started investigating the written statement.
The NAB Multan had completed the inquiry against the two brothers and transferred the case to Lahore. Allegations had been made in the applications received by the bureau.
In March last year, the anti-graft agency had launched inquiry against Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar for his alleged involvement in corruption worth millions. The Federal minister was alleged for billions of rupees corruption in Earthquake affectees funds.
The Bureau said that Khusro Bakhtiar had been involved in corruption and he has set up many factories and purchased land from the money earned through corrupt means.
