PTI govt will protect country's national interest: Shibli Faraz
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Information Shibli Faraz has said that every country cherishes its national interest and we will take the steps necessary to protect ours. He said this while briefing the media after the federal cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
He said that Saudi Arabia is a very close and brotherly country which has always stood by Pakistan in difficult times, our relations should not be viewed with suspicion.
The Federal Minister said that there are multiple causes for inflation in the country, including coronavirus which has shaken up all countries of the world. He noted however that the situation in Pakistan is better than in India.
Shibli Faraz said that international organizations are also acknowledging Pakistan’s economic recovery. The previous government had artificially maintained the currency’s exchange rate, which is why Pakistan had a 20 billion dollar deficit when PTI took over. Their tactics were short sighted and meant to give the masses a false sense of relief, he added.
The Minister said under Ehsaas program, the government has distributed financial assistance to fifteen million families. He said the government adopted the policy of reducing imports and increased exports which resulted in the strengthening of country’s economy.
Talking about the incident that took place at the NAB appearance of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, he said that Maryam Nawaz should be ashamed of what she has done, her party will have to pay for what it has done to Pakistan.
