Orange Line Train to begin operation from October 25

LAHORE (Dunya News) – In a statement by the Punjab government, it has been announced that Lahore’s much-delayed Orange Line train project will be ready to begin operation from October 25.

Once the construction work is over, the train will be handed over to mass transit authority on September 15. The train’s first journey will be from Dera Gujran after staff training concludes on October 1. The three month trial or test run of the Orange train has already been completed.

Meanwhile, a delegation led by Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Sheikh Irfan Iqbal called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and discussed solutions to the problems faced by industrialists and traders of the province.

The Chief Minister assured that the problems of industrialists and traders would be resolved on priority basis saying that the PTI government is a business friendly government and it will take immediate steps to resolve the issues.

Speaking on the matter, Usman Buzdar said that the test run of the Orange Line Metro train has been completed and we intend to start it soon. He said that his government will continue to work on projects of public interest, which previous governments ignored. He also said that work is set to begin on the Punjab Assembly which has been neglected for the past 10 years.
