94 pc children vaccinated for polio in latest campaign

The anti-polio campaign continued for five days.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Polio Program has achieved the desired target by vaccinating 94 percent of children under the age of five. After a four-month hiatus, the campaign continued for five days in Karachi, Faisalabad, Attock, Quetta and South Waziristan.

According to details, polio workers received training before the campaign to prevent the coronavirus spread. During the drive, social distancing was ensured and workers also spread awareness about ongoing coronavirus pandemic in the country.

Law enforcement agencies also played a key role in ensuring peaceful completion of the drive.

A statement from the Pakistan Polio Program said that preparation are being made for large-scale campaigns in August and September and there will be national campaigns in October, November and December to eradicate the virus.
