Sindh Cabinet decides to financially assist people affected by Coronavirus

KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Sindh government has announced financial assistance to the workers and day laborers who have tested positive for Coronavirus. Additional IG Ghulam Nabi Memon briefed the Cabinet on street crimes.

According to details, security feature number plate, promotion of students, wheat situation in the province and other issues were discussed in the long meeting of Sindh cabinet.

Briefing the media, Sindh Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah said that the trend of conducting coronavirus test in Sindh has increased and new legislation has been approved for the financially distressed people and financial assistance will be provided to those in need affected by Coronavirus.

Additional IG Karachi Ghulam Nabi Memon briefed the meeting that 24,000 street crimes and more than 900 robberies were reported during the last six months. The Sindh Chief Minister directed to upgrade the investigation branch but Nasir Hussain Shah denied it in front of the media.

Sindh Information Minister Nasir Shah further said that it has been decided to introduce security feature number plates like the design of Ajrak. A committee has been set up to review the printing and implementation of the number plates and will present its report at the next cabinet meeting.

The cabinet also directed to issue diplomas and other certificates without examination on the basis of COVID- 19 emergency. At the request of the federal government, it was also directed to send a summary to the law department and finance department for the exemption of infrastructure tax on wheat imports.
