Sindh Cabinet approves introduction of security featured number plates

KARACHI (Dunya News) – A cabinet meeting of the government of Sindh has approved the introduction of new security featured number plates for vehicles registered in the province.

While briefing the cabinet on the Sindh Excise Department’s new number plates, it was informed that the plates will use retro reflective foil. It was also told that private vehicles will have white number plates while official number plates will be green.

It was informed in the briefing that as on June 30, more than 7.26 million vehicles were registered in six districts of the province. These vehicles include 571,013 motorbikes and more than 1.5 million non-commercial cars.

On the occasion, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah directed that the price of number plates should be kept to a minimum so as not to burden the public.

The new number plates are expected to be introduced by November.
