Rahim Yar Khan: 7 killed, 9 injured in collision between van and mini truck

RAHIM YAR KHAN (Dunya News) - At least seven people were killed and 9 seriously injured in a road accident in Rahim Yar Khan today. The collision took place between a van and a mini truck on the national highway due to over speeding.

As soon as the accident was reported, Motorway Police, Rescue 1122 and other rescue teams rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation and shifted the dead and injured to the hospital by ambulances.

According to rescue sources, the accident occurred due to speeding and negligence of the truck driver. Initially, five people were killed in the incident while two others were rushed to the hospital in critical condition where they succumbed to the injuries.

Sheikh Zayed Hospital management said that the process of providing medical aid to other passengers injured in the accident is underway. On the other hand, the bodies of all the deceased have been handed over to their heirs after identification.

Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has expressed sorrow over the loss of precious human lives in a traffic accident near Khanpur area of Rahim Yar Khan and expressed his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims.

CM has demanded a report from the administration about the accident and directed that the best medical facilities be provided to the injured.
