Decision to open schools to be taken on August 15 based on situation: Murad Raas
He said not a single student would be allowed to attend school without mask.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas on Sunday made it clear that the decision to open educational institutions in the province will be taken on August 15 based on the situation.
Speaking exclusively in Dunya News program “Ikhtalafi Note”, he said that guidelines are being prepared for schools in Punjab, adding that they will not open all classes at once.
The provincial minister said that the decision to open the school will be taken wisely, adding that not a single student would be allowed to attend school without mask. It is easier to open school, he said, however, if a child dies, then people will not leave.
To a question, Raas said that the number of coronavirus cases was declining due to the lockdown in Lahore last week and if the number of cases increases then it will be difficult to decide.
“Children will not be allowed to gather during school breaks and lunch,” he said.
He went on to say that we are considering various options, adding that they cannot allow 50 children to sit in one class.
The classes will be divided in two shifts, he said and added there would possibly be 20 to 25 children in a class.
