Amid financial crunch, UET Lahore cuts employee salaries
LAHORE (Dunya News) – University of Engineering & Technology Lahore, suffering its worst financial crisis in history, has decided to cut the salaries of its employees in order to restrict the hemorrhaging of funds.
According to sources, salaries of employees have been reduced from anywhere between 10 to 50 percent. The Vice Chancellor of the University saw the largest cut in his salary, a massive 50%.
However, the salaries of C class employees have not been reduced. Speaking in this regard, the Vice Chancellor of UET said that the university is suffering from a deep financial crisis but it is taking all appropriate steps to address the problem.
