Deadlock ends between Punjab Food Department, flour mills
The Punjab government accepted flour millers' recommendations after 30 days.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The deadlock between the Punjab Food Department and flour mills has ended as the provincial government accepted the flour millers’ recommendations after 30 days, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
It has been learnt that the official price of 40 kilograms of wheat will be Rs 1,475 and the flour rate will increase to Rs 1,600 after mills’ wheat grinding charges.
The government rate of 20-kg flour bag will be Rs 850 and the price per kilogram will be surged by Rs 3. Direct import by private sector will not be possible if the wheat price falls below Rs 1,600.
Furthermore, the government will reconsider equal distribution of wheat quota in 36 districts on flour millers’ recommendations.
