LHC forms larger bench to hear petitions against new Model Town JIT

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court has on Monday formed a seven-member larger bench to conduct hearing on two petitions filed against new Model Town JIT, Dunya News reported.

LHC Chief Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan will head the bench which includes Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed Khan, Justice Alia Neelum, Justice Asjad Javaid Ghural, Justice Sarfaraz Dogar, Justice Farooq Haider and senior most judge of the LHC, Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti.

The seven-member larger bench will conduct hearings on cases pertaining to the Model Town incident from July 3. Fourteen people were killed and over 100 sustained injuries in 2014 in a police operation outside the residence of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri.
