Punjab Govt to ban cattle markets in major cities including Lahore

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab government has decided to set up cattle markets away from the cities due to Coronavirus. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for buying and selling animals will be defined in a few days.

According to details, cattle markets will not be set up on Eid-ul-Adha in major cities of Punjab province. The provincial government has taken this decision in view of the increasing cases of coronavirus.

Work is underway on the recommendations that how citizens will buy sacrificial animals on Eid-ul-Adha. SOPs will be defined in the next few days to make it possible to buy and sell sacrificial animals.

The decision to ban cattle markets in cities has been taken in the wider interest of the citizens. A proposal to set up cattle markets in sparsely populated areas near the city s outskirts is under consideration.
