Balochistan presents Rs 465b Budget 2020-21, no increase in salaries, pensions
QUETTA (Dunya News) – Balochistan’s Budget for fiscal year 2020-21 with a total outlay of Rs 465.528 billion was presented today in Balochistan Assembly, Quetta. Provincial Finance Minister Zahoor Ahmed Buledi presented the budget.
According to details, Rs 309 billion have been allocated for Non-Developmental expenditure and over Rs 156 billion for developmental expenditures. The budget outlay also shows a deficit of Rs 87 billion.
Finance Minister Zahoor Ahmed Buledi said more than Rs 63.5 billion have been allocated for uplifting Education sector and over Rs 38 billion have been earmarked to provide latest health facilities to the poor in Balochistan.
He said that the government is trying its level best to improve law and order situation in the province and provide all modern facilities to the law enforcement personnel and for this purpose, Rs 44 billion have been allocated in the budget.
Finance Minister apprised the House that the government is also focusing on rural development so that basic amenities of life could be provided to the people residing in rural areas of the province and for this purpose about Rs 13 Billion have been allocated in the budget. He went on to say that Rs 11 billion would be spent on promotion of Agriculture sector.
More than Rs 33 billion have been allocated for development expenditure of communication and works department while Rs 11 billion have been allocated for non developmental expenditures.
Finance Minister further also said that 6,840 vacancies would be created during the next financial year.
Earlier, Balochistan Cabinet with Chief Minister Jam Kamal in the chair has approved provincial budget proposals for fiscal year 2020-21. Addressing the provincial cabinet meeting, Chief Minister said the Budget has been prepared in consultation with all the stakeholders.
