Noor-ul-Haq Qadri holds meeting with Ulema to discuss SOPs for Eid-ul-Adha

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - During the meeting on preparation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Eid-ul-Adha, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noor-ul-Haq said that consultations with Ulema would be continued and a unanimous national strategy would be worked out.

According to details, a consultative meeting was held with Ulemas and Mashaikhs in the Ministry of Religious Affairs to prepare SOPs for safe Eid-ul-Adha from Coronavirus epidemic.

The meeting was chaired by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri and was attended by Federal Minister for Home Affairs Syed Ijaz Shah, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Health Dr. Zafar Mirza, Aftab Jahangir, Parliamentary Secretary and provincial government representatives from all provinces .

The meeting discussed in detail the strategy for securing cattle markets and Eid-ul-Adha gatherings in view of the rising mortality and deteriorating health situation across the country due to the Coronavirus epidemic.

In the meeting, the Federal Minister for Home Affairs and representatives from all over the country presented their proposals.

Dr Zafar Mirza said that the last two weeks of July could prove fatal if effective precautionary measures were not taken. Pakistan is among the top three countries in terms of the rising rate of the disease.

The participants of the meeting has appreciated the efforts of the government and said that a 20-point declaration was prepared on the occasion of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr through mutual consultation. All mosques, madrassas and religious circles proved their responsibility by implementing the declaration.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri said that besides performing religious rites and religious duties, national health and security should also be taken care of. Pakistan was the first country to keep mosques open with SOPs on the occasion of Ramadan in consultation with the religious scholars.
