Blaze at ghee godown in Rawalpindi still rages on
At least 100 personnel of Rescue 1122 are taking part in operation to bring the fire under control.
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – The fire that erupted in the private company ghee godown situated at Kalyam More area of Rawalpindi is still raging on after more than 15 hours as fire tenders failed in their attempts to douse it, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
According to sources, more that 100 personnel of Rescue 1122 are taking part in operation to bring the fire under control. Army helicopters also took part in the relief operation.
Sources further informed that two fire fighters of Rescue 1122 also received burn injuries during the operation and were shifted to hospital. A big portion of the godown has been collapsed due to intensity of the blaze.
On the other hand, the local administration has termed it a third degree fire and fire brigade vehicles have also been called from other districts to bring the fire under control.
