Over 3.5 million coronavirus cases in Lahore, PMA claims
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Officials of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) have claimed that there are more than 3.5 million coronavirus patients in Lahore while over 20 million have contracted the disease across Punjab.
While addressing a press conference in Lahore, the officials said that 35 frontline doctors have been martyred due to coronavirus and three young doctors are in critical condition but government is not removing its blindfold. The officials demanded a 15 day quarantine for doctors after serving a week with coronavirus patients.
PMA also said that at least one person of every household is being tested positive for the deadly. The officials further added that Pakistan has relatively less cases of the cases due low testing capacity.
The officials claimed that PMA center, on January 22, informed the government about possible devastating spread of coronavirus in the country but authorities failed to take any effective steps to address the issue and lockdown was lifted when it was needed the most.
