Sindh to present tax-free budget tomorrow

Sindh Minister for Finance will present budget for 2011-2012 tomorrow in the evening.

It is noteworthy that Sindh government could not utilize huge amount during current year.Before this, provincial Minister for Finance Murad Ali Shah Shah has presented the budget in Sindh Assembly three times.In a budget of Rs 477 billion, no new tax has been imposed for next year. For the first time in the history of Sindh, general sales tax has been introduced out of which government would get Rs 25 billion more.Shah told that budget document would also be available in computer CDs along with budget books.Sindh government has allocated Rs 156 billion for development projects out of which Rs 20 billion would be given to 23 districts while the remaining five districts would be given Rs 10 billion. Municipal delivery programme has been introduced for the first time in the province for which Rs 1 billion have been allocated.He further said that all the members in Assembly would be provided with hand books of budget speech.Sindh government has decided to give Rs 4 cror per member for 168 members. While Rs 10 cror have been specifically allocated for discretionary funds of Sindh CM. Rs 4 billion have been allocated for raise in the salaries of 0.6 million employees by 15% and Rs 10 billion in order to cope with natural disasters.
