Death ratio in Pakistan may increase in coming days: Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar on Thursday predicted that death ratio in Pakistan may increase in coming days, but the number is less as compared to other countries.

Briefing the media about prevailing Coronavirus situation along with Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad on Thursday, he said that at first it seemed that the situation would get out of control but thanks to almighty God the situation in Pakistan is better.

While expressing concern he said that 50 to 60 patients were being treated on ventilators for the last two weeks, adding that according to statistics, the death toll from Coronavirus may increase in the coming days.

The minister said that the lockdown has put a burden on the poor and the middle class, adding that he requested the prime minister to summon a meeting of the NCC on Monday or Tuesday to discuss the post May 9 strategy.
