COAS Gen Bajwa expresses grief over demise of ex-CJCSC Shareef
Admiral Muhammad Sharif had the honor of being the first Four Star Admiral of the Pakistan Navy.
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of former Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and former naval chief Admiral Muhammad Shareef.
According to statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the COAS said, “May Allah bless the departed soul in eternal peace and give strength to the bereaved family, Aamen”.

Earlier, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan had also expressed grief and sorrow over the sad demise of former naval chief Admiral Muhammad Shareef.
The air chief expressed his heartfelt condolences with the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal bliss of the departed soul, a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) news release said.
Mujahid Anwar also lauded the earnest contribution of the Admiral for the operational preparedness of Pakistan Navy.
The air chief said the deceased was an epitome of excellence and grace, who would remain a role model for the coming generations of officers and sailors.
On Tuesday, Former Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Admiral Muhammad Sharif on Tuesday was laid to rest with military honors in the federal capital.
According to a statement issued by Pakistan Navy, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi attended the funeral.
The funeral was attended by a large number of senior retired and serving officers of the Armed Forces, including the former Joint Chiefs and former Chiefs of the Pakistan Navy.
Admiral Muhammad Sharif has the honor of being the first Four Star Admiral of the Pakistan Navy.
Admiral Muhammad Sharif also remained the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee.
The entire nation, especially the Pakistan Navy, pays tribute to the services of Admiral Muhammad Sharif.
Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Chiefs of the Armed Forces also laid wreaths at the grave of Admiral Muhammad Sharif.
