Steps being taken to repatriate Pakistanis stranded abroad: FM Qureshi
The FM said that they have convinced provincial governments and airports were being opened.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Thursday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will make the report on Sugar crisis public and he is serious in this regard.
Speaking exclusively in Dunya News programme “Nuqta E Nazar”, he said that every possible step was being taken to repatriate Pakistanis stranded abroad.
The foreign minister said that they have convinced provincial governments and airports were being opened for the arrival of Pakistanis from abroad.
To a question, Qureshi said that the government cannot interfere in the matters related to the State Bank, adding that the central bank takes its own decision.
“If interest rates are high, people will have trouble making investments,” he said added the State Bank will gradually reduce interest rates keeping in view of inflation.
FM Qureshi went on to say that Europe and the US have been severely affected by the novel Coronavirus pandemic, which is a major trade market, adding that our large number of orders have been cancelled but we hope things get better soon.
