Coronavirus: Sindh govt imposes province-wide lockdown from tonight
Governor House Sindh has been declared closed for two weeks in view of the worsening situation
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Sindh government on Sunday has imposed lockdown in the province from 12:00am tonight after the number of coronavirus cases escalated, Dunya News reported on Sunday.
According to details, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail said that during the lockdown, grocery and medical stores would remain open.
On the other hand, the Governor House Sindh has been closed for two weeks in view of the worsening situation of the coronavirus.
Meanwhile, in the meeting of the coronavirus Task Force chaired by Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, important decisions were taken regarding the coronavirus.
Sources told that preventive measures taken against the coronavirus are set to be tightened; this decision was taken after repeated calls of social distancing were ignored by the populace.
On the other hand, spokesman Sindh government Murtaza Wahab tweeted on social networking website Twitter, saying it was time to make difficult decisions.
He wrote that the Chief Minister had spoken to the Sindh Governor, Corps Commander Karachi, DG Rangers and IG Sindh regarding the implementation of the order to keep people in their homes.
