President's visit to China meant to express solidarity: FM Qureshi

Beijing (Dunya News) - Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that the purpose of President Arif Alivi’s visit to China is to show solidarity with the Chinese leadership and its people.
Talking to the media when he arrived in Beijing with the President, Qureshi said that a number of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)’s in the fields of agriculture, science and technology will be signed with the Chinese leadership. He also said that Kashmir issue and Afghan peace process as well as matters related to bilateral relations and regional situation will be discussed with the Chinese counterparts.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi praised China for its help in looking after stranded Pakistani students amid the coronavirus crisis, testing for coronavirus and dealing with the locust attacks on crops in Pakistan.
He also said that Pakistan and China both are fully committed to the China Pakistan Economic corridor (CPEC) and that the project will be completed very soon.
Speaking about the US-Taliban peace agreement, he said that Pakistan has, from day one, maintained that there was no military solution to the Afghan problem, something which the international community has now recognized. He further said that sincere actions on the terms of the agreement were the responsibility of the Afghan leadership.
