Three policemen arrested for killing civilian in Karachi

Inquiry against three policemen has been initiated for killing a civilian in Karachi.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Karachi police opened fire on a car near the Cantonment Railway Station killing one person and injuring another, Dunya News reported on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Nabeel and his injured friend s name is Raza Imam.

District South SSP Sheraz Nazir told that three policemen including Head Constable Aftab, Sub-Inspector Abdul Ghafar and Constable Muhammad Ali Shah have been arrested after registration of an FIR. 

The police official maintained that the policemen were chasing the car and opened fire on the vehicle after stopping it near the Frere Hall. The investigation officers have told that 9mm pistol was used in firing.

The injured person said in his statement that he and his friend Nabeel used to do import-export business. They were coming from Defence area at night and did not realize when and why the police started chasing them.
