EU delegation to visit occupied Jammu and Kashmir will Tuesday.

NEW DELHI (Web Desk) – After nearly three months of military clampdown and worst humanitarian crises in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K), New Delhi has allowed a delegation of European parliamentarians to visit the held valley on Tuesday (tomorrow).

According to Indian news agency ANI, members of European Parliament called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg today. The delegation would be visiting Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow, it was told.

The Indian premier discussed the issue of occupied Kashmir and the situation there after the abrogation of Article 370, ANI said. The EU delegates also met Indian NSA Ajit Doval.

On the other hand, life still is far from being normal in the Kashmir Valley and Muslims majority areas of Jammu region as Indian military lockdown entered 85th running day on Monday.

Restrictions under section 144 remain enforced. Internet across all platforms and prepaid cellular services continue to remain shut. However, landline connections are functioning and voice calls on postpaid mobile phones are allowed.

People are resisting Indian attempts to show some signs of normalcy returning in the territory. An informal but widespread civil disobedience movement continues to remain in effect across the Kashmir Valley.
