Two more lives succumb to deadly dengue outbreak in Rawalpindi

According to health sources, the number of dengue-related deaths in Rawalpindi has reached 45.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – In the unfortunate dengue epidemic, 34-year-old woman, Naila, and 40-year-old resident of Rawalpindi, Nadeem Akhtar, succumbed to their illness at DHQ Hospital and left this world.

According to health sources, the number of dengue-related deaths in Rawalpindi has reached 45 so far. The administration is looking helpless as an additional 84 patients have been diagnosed with the dengue virus in the last 24 hours.

Dengue fever was diagnosed in 34 patients from Potohar Town while 21 patients from different areas of the municipal corporation fell victim to viral fever.

From Islamabad, 10 more dengue patients were shifted to Rawalpindi hospitals. Another 20 patients from different areas of Rawalpindi Cantonment Boards, and one patient each from Kahuta, Murree, Kallar Syedan and Taxila were also diagnosed with dengue.

On the other hand, dengue cases are underway in Multan. Nine more patients have been shifted to Nishtar Hospital and kept in the isolation ward. According to the Health Department, 1570 patients were brought to Multan on suspicion of dengue, out of which 152 patients were affected.

Meanwhile, dengue cases are also persisting in Lahore. In the next 24 hours, 16 more people have been diagnosed with dengue virus, after which the number of dengue patients has increased to 500 in the provincial capital.
