NAB committed to bring mega corruption cases to logical end: NAB Chairman

NAB has filed 600 corruption references in various ACs during the last 22 months, said NAB Chairman.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal said that national institution is committed to bring mega-corruption cases to its logical end.
Chairman NAB Javed Iqbal, while presiding over the meeting in Islamabad, said that NAB recovered Rs71 billion from corrupt elements and deposited it with national exchequer.
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has also filed 600 corruption references in various accountability courts during the last 22 months, said NAB Chairman Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal.
While chairing a meeting to review the performance of operation, prosecution, training, research, awareness and prevention divisions of NAB. He said that the NAB has devised an effective anti-corruption strategy to eradicate the menace of corruption from society.
He said that the figures of complaints, inquiries and investigations were almost double as compared to same period of 2018 to 2019.
Chairman NAB said that nationally-recognized international organizations such as Transparency International, World Economic Forum, Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) and others praised efforts of the anti-graft watchdogs.
Chairman NAB directed all director generals to deal with complaints, inquiries and investigations in accordance with the law within the stipulated time so that the mega-corruption cases could be brought to a logical conclusion.
Meanwhile, the NAB has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China in the context of monitoring the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
