FM Qureshi telephones Turkish, Iranian and Bangladeshi counterparts, apprised them on Kashmir issue
The foreign minister said that India has imposed curfew in the occupied valley since August 5.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Tuesday telephoned his Turkish, Iranian and Bangladeshi counterparts and apprised them about grave human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir.
During his telephonic conversation with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, he said that on Tuesday and said that India has imposed curfew in occupied valley since 5th of August and consequently, lives of thousands of people are under threat.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi situation is so dire that there is shortage of food and medicines. He said people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir are looking towards international community especially the Muslim world.
Qureshi also thanked Turk President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for raising his voice in support of armless and oppressed Kashmiris. He also lauded services of Turkey for Muslim unity.
Both foreign ministers agreed to continue bilateral consultations. They agreed to meet on the sidelines of United Nations General Assembly s and OIC meetings.
The foreign minister also called his Iranian counterpart to apprise him of the latest situation in the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOK).
Qureshi briefed Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif on the illegal and unilateral actions of India to alter the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir.
He further underlined that the steps taken by India in the Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, posed threats to peace and stability in the region, a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here said.
Meanwhile, speaking to his Bangladeshi counterpart AK Abdul Momen on telephone, he apprised him about grave human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir.
The foreign minister said that India has imposed curfew in the occupied valley since August 5.
He said that the situation in the held valley has become so worse that there is a shortage of food and medicines. He said that people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir are looking towards the international community especially the Muslim world.
The Bangladesh FM expressed concern over the situation in occupied Kashmir and emphasized to resolve the issue through dialogue.
