PPP submitted an adjournment motion at Senate Secretariat against shifting Asif Zardari to jail.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani on Monday directed to provide best medical facilities to former president and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.

The PPP submitted an adjournment motion at the Senate Secretariat against shifting Asif Zardari to jail from hospital. The motion was submitted by PPP Senator Serry Rehman.

The motion stated that despite serious health condition and the directions of the doctors, the PPP co-chairman was shifted to jail. It further stated that Zardari’s jail shifting is an important matter and it should be discussed during the Senate session.

Later, during the Senate session, Sherry Rehman said that they were not allowed to meet the former president, adding that everyone saw whatever happened at the PIMS hospital.

She said that the government imposes curfew as soon as someone visits hospital to inquire after the health the PPP co-chairman, adding that Asifa Bhutto was not even allowed to meet her father despite having court orders.

“Zardari’s three arteries have blocked,” the PPP senator said and added they were not afraid of accountability but political revenge shouldn’t be taken.

Speaking on the floor of the Upper House of the Parliament, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Azam Swati said that the PTI didn’t make any case against the opposition leaders, but the PPP and PML-N had made cases against each others during their tenures.

On the occasion, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani asked Minister for Interior Ijaz Shah to ensure provision of best medical facilities to the former president.
