Punjab govt to crackdown on benami properties
Provincial Minister for Law Raja Basharat will head the committee
LAHORE (Dunya News) – In yet another major development, the Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Thursday while tightening noose against those having benami properties, formed a committee for implementation of Benami Transaction Act 2017.
According to sources, Provincial Minister for Law Raja Basharat will head the committee while Provincial Finance Minister would be the assistant head of the committee.
The committee will comprise of Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Senior Member Board of Revenue, Secretary Finance and Secretary Law, while the concerned authority can nominate members.
The committee will devise a strategy regarding investigation of properties and will also ensure contact with concerned federal institutions.
