Patient diagnosed with Congo virus admitted at Jinnah Hospital Karachi

Dr said that the patient was suffering from high fever and his nose was bleeding when he was admitted

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Ashraf Khan, a resident of Quetta, was admitted to Jinnah Hospital of Karachi after being diagnosed with Congo virus or Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) on Friday.

According to Executive Director of Jinnah Hospital Dr Simi Jamali, a patient infected with the Congo virus was brought to Jinnah Hospital. The victim, Ashraf Khan, is a resident of Quetta Balochistan. She expressed that the patient was suffering through high fever when brought to the hospital whereas his nose was also bleeding.

She added that he is in a critical condition and admitted to the isolation ward whereas the patient is suffering from fever for two days now.

This is the ninth case of Congo virus this year in Karachi. Five of them have died whereas three of them were from Karachi.
