Punjab govt decides to regularize all slums
No policies were made for slums since 2012: Minister
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab government has decided to regularize all slums of the province, sources said.
As per details, provincial minister for colonies Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan in a meeting asked the officers to submit report in this regard within a week. The meeting discussed the measures to bring these slums to national streaming.
The minister on the occasion said that no policies were made for slums since 2012. He said even no grant was issued for these slums in last 10 years.
Chohan said the poor people were left on their own and Sharif family used these slums for their politics. He said the schemes for such undeveloped areas were used for political benefit during elections.
Chohan said new policies for slums are on the cards that are similar to land lease policies.
