PM Imran running away from by-elections owing fear of defeat: Moula Bux Chandio
Chandio asked the reason for postponing the by-elections for five days.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Moula Bux Chandio on Tuesday responded to postponing of National Assembly constituency NA-205 Ghotki by-elections saying that Prime Minister Imran is running away from the by-elections owing to the fear of defeat.
PPP spokesperson said that they have already feared about it for which they also wrote to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). He expressed confusion on the decision taken by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to postpone the by-elections for five days and asked the reason for delay.
Chandio expressed that PP also wrote to ECP concerning the fear of postponing. He alleged that the federal government wants to bring its own candidates by disqualifying the PP candidates. He questioned the reason of elections saying that why bother to have elections when they want to win it by disqualifying other candidates.
Earlier, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Secretary General Farhatullah Babar wrote reservations to Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa over by-election in National Assembly constituency NA-205 Ghotki in a letter saying that nomination papers of PP candidates were harshly scrutinize before getting approved.
According To Dunya News, it was stated in the letter that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has already rejected application against the tribunal PP candidates. It further read that local administration and most of the politicians are pressurizing the candidates whereas two mukhtiarkars were abducted to forcefully obtain documents against the candidates.
The letter continued saying that a first investigation report (FIR) has also been registered in order to forge documents against PP candidates. Letter further stated that detailed arguments were also presented thrice in the hearing of application against PP candidates.
PPP asserted in the letter that the rather than giving the verdict, it was reserved until the conclusion of by-election polls. A safe verdict won’t do any good as no time will be left to challenge it in the Supreme Court as hearing takes place just before the by-elections, letter read.
Based on the judicial verdict, the elections can also be delayed which we do not wish to do but not only local administration and politicians but other institutions are also pressurizing the candidates, PPP expressed.
On the other hand, PPP leader Saeed Ghani expressed that PPP co-chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari exposed the rigging in NA-205 Ghotki. Firdous Ashiq Awan’s own future has become dark as she can’t distort the truth anymore, he added.
He further asserted that they have solid evidence revealing the interferences happening in by-elections. “Firdous Ashiq Awan should find another job as Prime Minister Imran Khan’s boat is sinking now,” he added.
