Summary The administration of a private TV channel submitted written assurance to follow the PEMRA rules.
Holding a press conference at PEMRA headquarter, acting PEMRA Chairman Abdul Jabbar said that a private sports channel was closed by its administration and as the issue was in the court, he would not comment on it.He said that three notices were sent to the music channel of the same media group after its violation of the PEMRA rules. The court also heard this issue but the administration of the said private TV channel continued to violate the rules after which PEMRA temporarily suspended its transmission.He said that the channel administration has submitted the written assurance that it would not violate the rules.Jabbar warned all the channels to transmit their programmes according to the rules and regulations of their licences within a week, otherwise, action would also be taken against them.The press conference had to be concluded due to mismanagement and mess created by the reporter of the same private media group.
