NAB's executive board approves reference against Agha Siraj Durrani

It was informed that Durrani inflicted over Rs1 billion loss to the national exchequer.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) executive board on Wednesday has approved reference against Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani.

NAB chief Justice (r) Javed Iqbal chaired the session during which, it was informed that Durrani inflicted over Rs1 billion loss to the national exchequer.

The board also directed to file reference against Senator Rubina Khalid while inquiry against Akram Khan Durrani was also ordered as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, the participants decided to close inquiry against former federal minister Hafiz Abdul Kareem.  

On February 20, NAB arrested Agha Siraj Durrani from a hotel in Islamabad’s Red Zone area during investigation into assets disproportionate to his known sources of income and funds embezzlement charges.

The NAB had also obtained the required information from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and found that the properties and companies have been named after him and his 11 family members.
