Government has established 680 postal franchises so far, which would be increased by 15000

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed on Sunday said that the Pakistan Postal Services had been set on the road of progress while facilities were being provided to youngsters to achieve Prime Ministers Imran Khan s target of giving 100 million jobs.

Addressing a ceremony at Postal Services Headquarters, the federal minister said, giving the good news regarding tremendous success of Express Mail Service (EMS), now it is possible to send currier around globe within 72 hours at very low rates.

"National Currier Services had earned Rs12 billion till March, 2019 which is more as compared to previous fiscal year," maintained Murad Saeed. “Pakistan Postal Services would also join the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Logistic Market worth Rs24billion."

The federal minister went on saying that government had established 680 postal franchises so far, which would be increased by 15000.

"$20billion, which was remitted thorough Hawala and Hundi, is expected to be dispatched to country [Pakistan] through the postal services as there will be zero tax on consignments," said the federal minister.

Minister for communication further said that he had not assumed the office to enjoy perk, adding that target to make Pakistan Postal Services to a profitable institution would be achieved by December, 2019.
