Six injured as policeman opens fire during 'mehndi' ceremony in Lahore

A police official opened fire and injured six person during a 'mehndi' ceremony in Lahore on Friday.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – At least six persons were wounded when a policeman with help of his accomplices opened fire during a  mehndi  ceremony in Mughalpura area of Lahore on Friday night, Dunya News reported.

According to details,  mehndi  ceremony of Aslam’s son, a resident of Mughalpura, was in progress when police official Irfan alias Iffi, who is also his neighbor, came there along with his accomplices and opened indicreminate firing, injuring at least six people.

The injured were shifted to Services Hospital. According to hospital sources, three of the injured are in critical condition. The police official and his accomplices managed to escape from the scene after the incident.

The heirs of the victims staged a protest against the incident and block Jail Road for all kind of traffic. However, the protesters ended their protest after assurance from police that justice would be provided to them.
