He said, "I am not afraid of my appearing before NAB but the people were being killed financially."

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will have to apologize the nation if allegations of money laundering against him could not be proved.

Talking to media in Lahore after appearing before the NAB investigation team in money laundering case, he said that he received money through TT during 2005 to 2008, adding that he wasn’t a public office holder at that time.

Hamza went on to say that he was not allowed to leave Lahore during the tenure of former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf and accused the anti-graft watchdog of withdrawing Rs120 million from his company but later returned him on the orders of the Supreme Court.

He further accused that Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry had accused them of money laundering worth Rs85 billion but the notice he received had mention of Rs33 billion and the anti-graft agency questioned him about Rs180 million.

The opposition leader said that the NAB summons him to deviate the nation from inflation, adding, “I am ready to appear daily if it resolves the masses problems. He said, “The opposition leaders are summoned to NAB offices in order to deviate the nation from the current government s incompetence.”

“I am not afraid of my appearing before the NAB but the people were being killed financially,” he added.

The PML-N while accepting about receiving money through TT said that whatever he did was according to the law and taxes laws.

Hamza challenges NAB raid in LHC

Earlier today, Hamza Shahbaz had also challenged NAB’s on his house inModel Town in Lahore High Court (LHC).

He requested the court to launch contempt of court inquiry against NAB director and director general for spreading panic and fear among the women who were present inside the house.

Earlier, NAB team had put 23 questions before Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shahbaz, asking him why public money was used to build a nullah for Ramzan Sugar Mills while other sugar mills built them with their own money.

NAB also questioned if a survey was conducted for building a nullah.

Hamza replied to NAB team that he was unaware of matters related to this nullah as his brother Salman Shehbaz sees them.

Let it be known that Hamza Shahbaz turned up before the NAB on April 12 in money laundering and assets beyond income cases. The NAB sources claimed that the PML-N leader did not submit complete record.

Hamza Shahbaz has already been granted bail by the Lahore High Court (LHC) in Ramzan Sugar Mills and Saaf Pani (clean water) cases till April 17.
