AIG Karachi Amir Ahmed Shaikh ordered the police officer to step down from his position

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Karachi police have started threatening the family of minor girl who lost her senses due to wrong injection.

Instead of taking action against culprits, SP Gulshan Tahir Noorani allegedly threatened the father of Nishwa, Qaiser Ali, with severe consequences over raising voice against criminal negligence of the hospital.

The nine-year-old girl was paralysed due to the negligence of Darul Sehat Hospital’s administration.

Qaiser Ali told media that he received direct threats from the high ranking police officer, who forced him to withdraw his demands for action against the hospital.

Ali further said, “The SP told me to think thoroughly before taking further action. He threatened me with severe consequences and said if you registered a First Investigation Report (FIR) you would get nothing.

On the other hand, SP Tahir Noorani rejected the allegations and expressed that some elements are trying to politicize the issue. Police visited the family of Nishwa for legal aid.

Sindh spox, Murtaza Wahab said that the government has directed related authorities to provide security to the affected family besides opening an investigation against SP Gulshan Tahir Noorani over threatening the father of the paralysed girl.

While taking immediate action, AIG Karachi Amir Ahmed Shaikh ordered the police officer to step down from his position until completion of the investigation.

On April 14, a nine-month-old girl had paralysed allegedly after being administered ‘wrong injection’ by ‘untrained nursing staff’ at Darul Sehat Hospital situated in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area.
