ECP directs KP to finalize Local Government Act till April 30.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has on Tuesday directed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to finalize its Local Government Act till April 30.
A session was held at the ECP regarding KP Local Government Act in which it was decided that the local body elections will be held before November 28 in the province.
The ECP maintained that proper time is required for the preparation of electoral lists and delimitation.
KP government representative assured the ECP that the draft of new Local Government Act has been prepared and will soon be presented before the cabinet for approval.
It is worth mentioning here that the tenure of local government will end on August 28, 2019 in the province.
