Teachers' sit-in protest in Lahore enters 7th day

Teachers protest at Charing Cross on Mall Road in Lahore entered 7th day on Monday.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The sit-in protest by college teachers against Punjab government anti-teacher and anti-education policies at Charing Cross on Mall Road entered 7th day on Monday.

Teachers from different cities of the province joined the sit-in protest which was called by the Punjab Professors and Lecturers Association (PPLA) against the provincial government for ignoring plight of the teachers.

The protesting teachers are demanding of the government for promotions, regularization of ad hoc teachers, pay protection and restoration of service structure. They are also demanding of the government to implement five-tier promotion structure like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).

Teachers are determined to continue the protest at Charing Cross on Mall Road until their demands are not met.
