Summary Federal and provincial governments submitted their reports regarding the registration of eunuchs.
A three-member Supreme Court bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, heard the case about the gender identification of eunuchs. The CJP ordered National Data and Registration Authority (NADRA) to register eunuchs as she-male and he-male. During the hearing the CJP remarked that the eunuchs were also a creation of God and they deserve respect like any other human being. He said that when eunuchs were given their complete rights, their families would also own them. The CJP said that a stern action would be taken against those police officers, who tried to harass eunuchs and adjourned the hearing for three weeks.
