Railways Minister, Iranian Advisor discuss bilateral ties

The Minister highlighted the deep rooted historical relations between Pakistan and Iran.

TEHRAN (Web Desk) - Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed called on Advisor to the Supreme Leader of Iran on International Affairs Dr. Ali Akbar Velayati in Tehran today (Thursday).

Issues relating to bilateral cooperation, enhancing economic activity through rail connectivity, border security and regional stability were discussed in the meeting.



The Minister highlighted the deep rooted historical relations between Pakistan and Iran and emphasized on enhancing bilateral relations through enhanced economic activity and rail connectivity.

He thanked the Supreme Leader of Iran for his support to the cause of Kashmiri people.



He handed over a letter from President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi for the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei.

On his part, Dr. Ali Akbar Velayati said that Pakistan is a very important neighbor and Iran is committed to promote friendly relations with Pakistan. He added we should not allow any third country to damage our brotherly relations.
