PM directs speeding up efforts for transforming Islamabad into 'model city'

PM Khan chaired a meeting to review modifications in Islamabad's master plan.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday directed to speed up efforts for transforming Islamabad into a ‘model city’.

PM Khan chaired a meeting in the federal capital to review modifications in Islamabad’s master plan and development projects.

He directed his special assistant on Capital Development Authority (CDA) Ali Nawaz Awan to increase the steps towards achieving the goal.

Discussion was also held over the performance of commission formed to monitor the transformation plan.

PM Khan asserted that Islamabad is one the beautiful cities of the world therefore; efforts should be accelerated
to enhance its beauty and completion of development projects.

The locals should be provided basic health and education facilities whereas the vulnerable children to be admitted to educational institutions, he added.

He directed the authorities to plan according to future needs.

Awan briefed PM Khan that the present structure of the city is being modified completely stressing that establishment of new departments for education and health are the priorities. 

The meeting was also attended amongst others by Finance Minister Asad Umer, Health Minister Amir Mehmood Kiyani, special assistant Ali Nawaz Awan, MNA Raja Khurram Nawaz, special assistant Naeemul Haq and Commissioner Islamabad Amir Ali Ahmed.
