LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar on Monday asserted that Pakistan laid the foundation of peace by releasing Indian pilot Abhinandan Varthaman.

Speaking to media after visiting Data Darbar in Lahore, he stressed that Pakistan do not want escalation but know how to respond and defend ourselves.

“India’s war hysteria is not linked with Pulwama attack but to elections. Indian nation must not be impressed by the statement of Narendra Modi,” said the governor.

“The 20 million Pakistani nation stands with the armed forces. The international community should help to de-escalate the situation,” Sarwar emphasized.

He told that a letter cognizing the efforts of Pakistan has been written to Britain and European parliaments.

“India has no evidence of Pulwama attack and is only trying to hide their atrocities in Kashmir,” said the Punjab Governor.

India wanted to isolate Pakistan internationally but has fell into that state himself, he added.
