ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi told a press conference that a special meeting of the National Security Committee chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan was held at the Prime Minister Office today (Tuesday) following India’s violation of Line of Control (LoC).
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Defence, Finance Minister, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chief of Army Staff, Naval Chief, Chief of Pakistan Air Force, civil and military officials.
"The forum strongly rejected Indian claim of targeting an alleged terrorist camp near Balakot and the claim of heavy casualties."

"Once again Indian government has resorted to its self-serving, reckless and fictitious claim. This action has been done for domestic consumption being in election environment, putting regional peace and stability at grave risk," the Foreign Minister said.
"The claimed area of strike is open for the world to see the facts on ground. For this, domestic and international media is being taken to the impact site."
He said: "The National Security Committee concluded that India has committed uncalled for aggression, to which, Pakistan shall respond at the time and place of its choosing."

"To take the nation onboard, the government has decided to requisition joint session of the parliament. Prime Minister has summoned a special meeting of the National Command Authority on 27th of February (Wednesday)."
The Foreign Minister further said: "Prime Minister has directed that all elements of national part including the armed forces and the people of Pakistan to remain prepared for all eventualities."
"The Prime Minister has decided to engage with the global leadership to expose irresponsible Indian policy in the region. He also appreciated timely and effective response of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) to repulse Indian attempt without any loss of life or property."
The foreign minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has also had telephonic conversations with UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Zayed and as well as Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman over the issue.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said an emergency meeting of OIC group in Jeddah is also underway and Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua is representing Pakistan there. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said he conveyed Pakistan’s viewpoint and concerns on invitation to Indian Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj as Guest of Honor at an important upcoming meeting of OIC in UAE.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Prime Minister’s offer of engagement and cooperation to India on 21st of this month was made with all sincerity. But it was not reciprocated in kind.
Replying to a question, the Foreign Minister said Indian airplanes entered into Pakistani territory at 2.55 am and they left at 2.58 am as soon as the Pakistan Airforce fighter jets were scrambled. He told another questioner that Indian politicians are endangering the regional peace due to their election compulsions.
