(Web Desk) – The mid-air crash of two Surya Kiran jets of Indian Air Force (IAF) in Bengaluru on Tuesday has exposed the technology and fragile capacity of IAF in terms of its claims of ‘being ready for war’ against Pakistan.
The two jets of Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) crashed a day before the Aero India Show 2019 when rehearsal for the show was being done.
The aircrafts were practicing spin manoeuvres when crashed and plunged to the ground at the Yelahanka airbase.
A video showed thick, black plumes of smoke rising from the airbase.
According to local media reports, two pilots managed to have survived the crash.
In similar incident on February 1, two senior pilots of the IAF who were flying a Mirage 2000 trainer fighter aircraft were killed after the aircraft crashed at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) airport in Bengaluru while taking off.
