NAB court approves five-day transit remand of PML-N's Kamran Michael
The bureau requested the court to grant transit remand of the accused for shifting him to Karachi
LAHORE (Dunya News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday has produced Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Kamran Michael in accountability court in Lahore.
During the hearing, the court approved five-day transit remand of Kamran to shift him to Karachi.
Earlier on Friday, Kamran Michael was detained by NAB on charges of misuse of authority.
Kamran Michael had served as Minister for Statistics, in Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s cabinet from August 2017 to May 2018. He previously served as the Minister for Human Rights in the third Sharif ministry from 2013 to 2017.
A member of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), Michael held the cabinet portfolio of Minister for Ports and Shipping from 2013 to 2016.
Michael has been an elected member of the Senate of Pakistan on minorities seat since 2012 and has served as the Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs, Human Rights, Women development, Social Welfare and Finance in the Provincial Assembly of Punjab.
