FO rejects Indian objection over Shah Mehmood phone call to Hurriyat leader Umar Farooq
FO said it was not a new thing as Pakistan always remained in contact with Kashmir leadership
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Foreign Office on Wednesday rejected Indian objection over Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s phone call to All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
He said that it was not a new thing as Pakistan always remained in contact with Kashmir leadership and added that Pakistan will continue to support Kashmiri leadership till the peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue.
Rejecting the Indian objection, Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Mohammed Faisal said that Kashmir is an unresolved issue between Pakistan and India and added that Kashmir issue is part of United Nation agenda.
He further said that according to Security Council resolutions, Simla Agreement and Lahore Declaration, Kashmir is a disputed issue between Pakistan and India.
Dr Mohammed Faisal said that Pakistan fully support Kashmiris right of self-determination and will continue political, diplomatic and moral support of the people of Kashmir.
