Death toll in truck-bus collision in Hub rises to 27
The ill-fated bus was on its way to Panjgur from Karachi.
HUB (Dunya News) The death toll in truck-bus collision in Hub has reached 27 after two more victims succumbed to their wounds during treatment in Civil Hospital Karachi on Monday night.
According to details, the accident occurred near Bella cross where the bus caught fire soon after smashing into the truck, killing 25 persons including women and children on the spot. The bus was on its way to Panjgur from Karachi.
At least 12 people sustained severe wounds among whom six were shifted to Karachi and remaining to Quetta in critical condition. Two other victims succumbed during treatment at hospital.
Deputy Commissioner of Lasbela, Shabbir Mengal told that fire erupted in the bus has been extinguished.
The ill-fated bus was on its way to Panjgur from Karachi. Sources say that the bus caught fire due to Iranian diesel filled in its secret compartments for smuggling.
Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Jam Kamal Khan directed Health Department to provide the best health facilities to the injured. He also ordered the concerned administration to submit report of the accident.
