Six miners killed in Dukki coal mine collapse

Bodies of six dead and 19 unconscious miners were recovered during rescue operation.

DUKKI (Dunya News) – At least six coal miners were killed when portion of a coal mine collapsed due to gas explosion in Balochistan s Dukki district on Monday, Dunya News reported.

According to details, four miners working in the coal mine were trapped after an explosion caused due to accumulation of gas in the mine. Other miners present at the site started rescue operation on their own as a result two other miners died and 19 fell unconscious due to presence of poisonous gas in the mine.

The rescue operation lasted for 19 hours after which bodies of six dead and 19 unconscious miners were recovered and shifted to hospital.
